This course is open to the public and is part of the Kentucky State Park system. They accept Visa, MC, AE and Discover. Collared shirts and no jeans. Walking is permitted anytime. No range. No beer. Snack bar and pro shop in temporary clubhouse.Bermuda tees and fairways lead to medium and large bent grass greens of moderate undulation. Numerous water hazards exist but are not frequently in play. 59 sand bunkers. Many mature trees and scenic elevation changes add to difficulty. The course is on a piece of land surounded by Lake Barkley.Design by Hurdzan/Frye. Mineral Mound opened July of 2003.18 hole, 6,930 yard par 72 course. Slope NA Rating NAI suspect the total yardage will change due to the fact that the par three yardages on the card are wrong.They have more tee positions that make the course shorter.PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE |

ON COURSE COMMENTS 6-06Nice layout cut through mature trees using expansive acreage. Lots of nature. Tees and fairways were nice. Green were fine, just a little shaggy and slow.Long hitters will not need driver on numerous par fours, even where yardage on card indicates over 400. Some par fours seemed similar to us.Difficult mounding at entry and exits of greens and tees might be trouble for elderly or out of shape golfers...could use some steps in a few places. Temporary clubhouse. New clubhouse in progress...supposed to be finished fall of 2006.We paid $33.75 with cart on weekday. We thought the price fairly represents the course conditions and the course should improve with time. |
