If you are getting the feeling that the course designer (Griffith) likes sand you are correct. Number three is a 359 yard par four. You can get closer to the hole by aiming closer to the water. The fairway is wide.

You can find more sand at the 500 yard, par five 11th hole. There is actually more ground between the greenside traps and the fairway traps than the eye tells you. Visually tricky!

The dormant Bermuda was just beginning to green up at our visit in early April 2003.

I forgot to ask in the clubhouse, but I think the rough was zoysia. Yikes!

Looking back the 438 yard, par four finishing hole. Pretty place!

If you are hungry before or after the round, exit the course left for a few restaurants in Young Harris, or exit right for more options and adult beverages in Hiawassee. They have a nice looking bar in the resort too.

This is a first class resort course that I would love to play again.

In season it's around $60.
