MINERAL MOUND
Start your day on a 525 yard par five.

There is a fairway break at 273 yards that is reachable for big hitters.

If you are a little left, your drive is gone over that hill.

The eighth hole at Mineral Mound is a 452 yard par four.

You can miss this green right and still roll on.

Number 10 is a 486 yard, dogleg left par five. A good drive makes this reachable.

Lake Barkley is hiding behind the trees on the left. The Corp of Engineers won't allow any trees to be cut, so although the course meanders on a peninsula, there are not many clear views of the water.

13 is a 480 yard, dogleg left par five.

Here is where I screwed up...I thought that the gap on the left was an indication that a good drive would make the fairway. I was wrong. I hit it great, carried the ball about 255, and landed in the brush short of the fairway. I think you need to carry the ball at least 290 to make it.

The finishing hole is a straight away, 402 yard par four with a significant elevation change from tee to fairway.

Like numerous elevated par fours at Mineral Mound, you don't need a driver to get in position even when the yardage indicates over 400 yards.
